The second time, Chhaya Kadam is at Cannes Film Festival. Even though she may not be running on the Red Carpet of Cannes 2025, the actress is there to represent her Marathi-language film at the Global Fest marketplace. This is when she indulged with Suchrita Tyagi to heart from heart and shared a memorable moment of Cannes 2024 that continues to hold a place in her heart.
Chhaya said that whenever she thinks about her debut in ear last year, she always remembers the sweet gesture for director Payal Kapadia’s actors. The missing Ladies actress expressed that when the best film was announced for all of us, we imagine as Prakash, Payal could simply step on stage and praise, which she really deserves.
But instead of showing alone, the filmmaker offered his actors a hand and took all three on stage to receive the Grand Prix Award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. “Aaj Bhi Vo Photo Aur Video Dekhti Huna, Toh Aesa Lagta Hai, Duniya Bhar Ki Aurton Arton Apni Line Me Jo Hain Na, Jo Kuch Karna Chahti Hai, UNN SABKI HIMMAT BADHAI.
She states that the frame with four women in sarees shows unity among them, which represented India on the global stage. “She Din Mai Kabi Nhi Mah Sakti (I can never forget that day) said. Looking at her film Legacy, the Madgaon Express actress said that she has worked in the Indian film industry for so many years. But that moment exposed him in a very different and positive way in front of the whole world. “So, Payal, I Love You,” he said, ending his statement.
