Kamal Haasan and director Shankar’s ‘Indian 2’ has been shortened by 12 minutes five days after its theatrical release. The shortened version will be screened in theatres from today i.e. July 17. The film, which hit theatres on July 12, received negative reviews from both critics and audiences. Production house Lyca Productions finally confirmed the news and shared a poster that read, “We heard you.”

The production house released a statement which read, “We heard you! ‘Indian 2’ is now shortened by 12 minutes! You can now watch the shorter version of the film in theatres near you.”

Earlier there were rumours that the film had been shortened by 20 minutes.

‘Indian 2’ had received a U/A certificate and its duration was three hours and four minutes. After the reduction in the length of the film, its duration has now become two hours and 52 minutes. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has demanded five modifications in the film, which also includes muting the abusive words in the film.

The sequel released in theatres in three languages ​​on July 12. The film grossed Rs 100 crore worldwide in just three days, but witnessed a massive drop in its box office collections during the weekdays.

Directed by Shankar, ‘Indian 2’ stars Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Bobby Simha and many others. Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
