Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam’s ‘Thug Life’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2025. The film will reach OTT eight weeks after its dramatic release. At the Mumbai trailer launch event on Tuesday, Kamal Haasan decided to choose the option for an eight -week dramatic window for ‘Thug Life’ and hopes to follow the suit.
In Tamil cinema, even big films like ‘Bakri’ of Thalapathy Vijay usually follow the four -week OTT release window. ‘Thug Life’ will be one of the first films to follow an eight -week window.
Explaining his decision at the Mumbai press conference, Kamal Haasan said that it was beneficial for all the people associated with ‘thug life’. Calling it a practical decision, Haasan hoped that the other would follow this model.
“It’s not even an experiment, but to talk practical.
After its grand release in theaters on 5 June, it will stream on Netflix. Reports suggest that the streaming giant protected the film’s rights for a large amount.

‘Thug Life’ is a high-set gangster drama, in which a stand-off will appear between Kamal Haasan and Simbu’s characters. The trailer reminded Mani Ratnam and Kamal’s ‘Nayakan’. However, the ‘Vishwopam’ actor said that it was not the sequel to ‘Naikan’.
Apart from headline to ‘Thug Life’, Kamal Haasan has also produced the film with Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Udayanidhi Stalin’s red huge films.
