Now in a recent interview, filmmaker Sudha Kongara has revealed that Kamal Haasan called her personally and praised the film. Kongara said, "Kamal Haasan sir saw our film Parashakti and called at around 12:45. He said, ‘You remembered an incident that happened 60 years ago and forced us to think about it. This is a big thing in itself. He further quipped that he too feels an echo of his views.

Parashakti releases in theaters on January 10, 2026. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Sreeleela, Ravi Mohan and Atharva along with Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph and Papari Ghosh in lead roles. The political drama is set in 1960s Madras and follows the story of two brothers who take part in a movement imposed in Tamil Nadu. The film is produced by Akash Bhaskaran under Don Pictures.
