‘Kalki 2989 AD’ recorded a spectacular fourth weekend at the box office. The film earned Rs 17.4 crore in the last three days, taking the total collections to cross Rs 600 crore in India in 25 days. However, its Hindi version created a new record by earning Rs 275.9 crore in four weeks, making the Prabhas starrer the third-highest-grossing South Indian film in the Hindi market. The Nag Ashwin-directed film is now raking in Rs 616.95 crore in India and aims to surpass ‘Jawaan’, which grossed Rs 640.25 crore in its lifetime run at the ticket window. It will also become the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film of all time at the domestic box office once it surpasses Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.

Interestingly, it is difficult for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ to create any more records in the Hindi market. The top South Indian films in North India are ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘KGF 2’ and this science-fiction drama is not expected to surpass the lifetime collections of these two big films at the Hindi box office.

The film has joined the prestigious club of earning Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office. It is the seventh Indian film to achieve this feat and the first film of the year 2024. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is also the third Telugu film to earn so much at the worldwide box office.
With ‘Deadpool vs Wolverine’ releasing this week, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ might see some competition in India. However, since it has already broken several existing box office records and created new ones, the clash doesn’t matter now.
