According to early estimates, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to earn Rs 65 crore on the second day at the Indian box office. This is a very good hold, as the second day is Friday, not Saturday, which is usually the case with films releasing on Friday. The total collection of two days at the Indian box office is approximately Rs 166 crore. Kalki 2898 AD is headed to earn Rs 310-320 crore in the four-day extended weekend.
Hindi version performed the best, grossing Rs 42 crore in 2 days
The Hindi dubbed version held up the best, and collections remained at the same level as the first day. A 10-15 percent drop from Thursday would have been a pretty acceptable trend, but remaining steady is a good sign for the film’s prospects. The two-day nett numbers for the Hindi version of the Prabhas starrer are around Rs 42 crore and it could reach the Rs 100 crore mark over the four-day weekend as expected.
Kerala is the best in South, position of Telugu states falls
In South India, the biggest hold was seen in Kerala, where the second day’s business was almost equal to the first day. Telugu states saw a decline on the second day, which is normal. Nizam is expected to earn Rs 14 crore on Friday, which is almost half of the first day, while Andhra Pradesh saw a decline of 60 percent.
Tamil Nadu and Karnataka also remained in a good position and will witness gains during the weekend.
