Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin’s epic sci-fi film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is having a great run in the theatres. The film has grossed Rs 400 crore at the domestic box office in just eight days. The mega-budget film is now inching towards the Rs 800 crore mark globally and is likely to achieve the milestone by the end of this weekend. Trade reports estimate that the film could gross Rs 1,000 crore worldwide in its lifetime run.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ released in theatres on June 27 in 2D and 3D in multiple languages. The film has broken several box office records ever since it hit the theatres.

According to the estimated number Saconilc‘Kalki 2898 AD’ continues to gross over Rs 20 crore in India on weekdays. On July 4, the film grossed Rs 22.3 crore in India combining all four languages. The Hindi and Telugu versions of the film grossed over Rs 10 crore each.

The eight-day total earnings of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ now stands at Rs 414.75 crore, with major contributions coming from the Telugu (Rs 212 crore) and Hindi (Rs 162.8 crore) versions of the film.

The Telugu version of the film recorded an occupancy of 36.92 per cent on July 4. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will pick up pace during its second weekend in theatres.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a sci-fi action adventure written and directed by Nag Ashwin. The mega-budget film is a mix of science fiction and Indian mythology. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are in the lead roles, while Shobana, Pasupathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben, Disha Patani and Brahmanandam are in supporting roles.
