Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has earned a brilliant Rs 95 crore in India. The film’s second day estimates suggest that the film’s total collection in India could be around Rs 150 crore. This brilliant film by Nag Ashwin also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashvat Chatterjee and Kamal Haasan in important roles.

On its opening day, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ earned Rs 95.30 crore in India and Rs 191.5 crore globally. Saconilc As per reports, the film earned Rs 54 crore on the second day, taking its second day collection to Rs 149.30 crore. However, these figures are only provisional.

The Telugu version of the film recorded an occupancy of 65.02 per cent on Friday, June 28. The film is expected to earn around Rs 500 crore in the four-day weekend.

Made by Vyjayanthi Movies on a massive budget of ₹600 crore, the film has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.

Director Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ is a sci-fi dystopian film, which is derived from Hindu mythology. At a press conference, the filmmaker explained why he named the film ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ He said, “Our film starts with Mahabharata and ends in 2898. That is the title of the film. It is called ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ It covers a distance of 6000 years in time.”

He further added, “We are trying to create a world that exists, and imagine what it could be like. We will still keep it Indian and our challenge is to not make it like ‘Blade Runner’.”

The film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, along with Disha Patani, Pasupathi, Shobana, Anna Ben and others in key roles. SS Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur make cameo appearances in the film.
