Actor Kajol shared that he is not a fan of horror films and is planning to watch his upcoming film ‘Ma’ only for professional reasons. The actor was working in a horror style emotionally drought and admitted that he had declared it wrong before filming for ‘Ma’. Despite being part of the project, Kajol shared that he had not seen the entire film yet and has only seen “with a lot of green screen” scenes to avoid fear.

In an interview with PTIKajol said, “I don’t watch horror movies. I have seen a lot of big films. I am not a horror film Ephicionado. I have not seen ‘Ma’ yet. Only in many green screen parts behind me, so that I am scared, and no background music, or anything like that.

The actor admitted that he initially assumed that filming a horror film would be similar to working in any other style, but soon realized how wrong she was. “It was a very interesting experience, in fact, it was not something I had done earlier. I always admitted that working on the horror style was like working in any other film, and I was completely wrong,” she said.

Describing Emotional challenges of acting in horrorHe said, “When you are acting, there is a pitch in the horror, and the pitch is completely different from regular films. It’s not a Rome-Com, it’s not a love story, or it’s not a drama. It is not a drama. Vishal and I used to talk for a long time, where we used to like, ‘No,’ No, this is not the pitch. You have to put it on the pitch.” And it was really emotionally dry, to keep it on that pitch continuously. ,

Interestingly, Kajol revealed that ‘Ma’ did not start as a horror project. “We did not start to do a horror film, but by the time the script surfaced, we realized that the characters and conditions had grown so much that we needed a big platform to do justice to them, and to extreme for them,” he said.

The actor said, “As it was, the audience would not have been satisfied if we would have come out with a very simple end.

The film proved to be one Learning experience for the actor. Kajol said, “From action, to work with VFX, all this, and even dramatic scenes. I love the music of the film, so it all actually came together.”

While Kajol has taken various OTT projects in recent years, including ‘The Trial’ and ‘Do Patty’, she remains loyal to the magic of the big screen. “Theaters still have magic, somewhere the line is down. You don’t just have the same or feel when you are watching a film at home. It’s something that only a cinema theater can give you,” he concluded.

Directed by Vishal Furia, ‘Ma’ marked the first venture of Kajol in a scary form in his 30 -year long career. The film shared its universe with 2023 supernatural thriller ‘Satan’, showing her husband, actor Ajay Devgan. As Kajol star Ambika, a mother determined to protect her daughter Shweta from harm.
