Brief Description of Kagurabachi Chapter 42
Titled Everything, Kagurabachi chapter 42 begins with a flashback scene where Tafuku asks Hiyuki if she really intends to kill Chihiro Rokuhira after her mission. Hiyuki insists that she has to finish him off because he won’t give up the enchanted blade.
Tafuku challenges her, suggesting she may sympathize with Chihiro, but Hiyuki remains determined, stating that Chihiro will never pose a threat to her. However, she momentarily questions her resolve when she remembers Chihiro’s determination to save the prisoners.
Kagurabachi Chapter 42 then shifts to the auction room, where the Kamunabi magicians of the Shinuchi bidding team notice the deteriorating condition of Kyora Sazanami. They discuss how Kyora is losing control of the Shinuchi blade and wonder how long he can continue to wield it.
One of the Kamunabi magicians who had witnessed the previous battles notes that the power displayed so far is only a fraction of Shinuchi’s potential. As the crowd watches, the illusion of Kyora on the podium and the screen depicting the events disappear, causing confusion and panic among the audience.
Meanwhile, in Kagurabachi chapter 42, Kyōra fights an unknown entity in her mind, trying to resist its control. Chihiro learns that the warehouse’s subspace is collapsing and is worried about the prisoners trapped inside. Hiyuki suggests that they should kill Kyōra quickly.
Suddenly, Chihiro, Hiyuki, and Kyora are transported to the auction room. Kyora uses Shinuchi’s centipede ability, creating a deadly garden of flowers that traps and kills many of the spectators. When the chaos ensues, Shiba appears behind Hakurei, and witnesses the horror of the battle.
Hiyuki proposes killing Kyora, but Hakurei Kagurabachi warns against it in chapter 42. He explains that Shinuchi’s powers are destabilizing the storehouse, and killing Kyora will cause it to collapse, killing all the prisoners inside. The only solution is for someone to enter the storehouse and inject spirit energy into each prisoner so that Hakurei can use his powers to extract them.
No matter how dangerous the task is, Chihiro volunteers for the mission and Hakurei sends Chihiro into the storehouse to rescue the prisoners. Kagurabachi chapter 42 ends with Chihiro diving to catch Inazuma’s older sister, who is falling into a chasm, as she is determined to save her and the others.
