Filmmaker Kabir Khan opened up about his disappointing film during his appearance at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Box Office Collection of ‘Chandu Champion’He said that he is proud of Kartik Aaryan’s film regardless of how it performed at the box office.

while talking to mid dayKabir revealed that box office numbers don’t matter to him. He said, “Any filmmaker who says box office doesn’t matter is not speaking the truth; it does matter. But it’s not the only parameter to judge a film. The most important thing for me is how much the film is remembered and talked about after some time has passed. Now with ‘Chandu Champion’ and before that ’83’ (2021), there have been repeated views on OTT.”

Kabir further added, “People kept coming back to watch the film again and again. That shows the legacy of the film and how long it stays in people’s memories. In terms of box office numbers, my first film ‘Kabul Express’ was the lowest of all my films. But 18 years later, people come up to me and say they loved the film. So, today there are many different parameters through which you can judge how deeply a film has connected with people.”

According to reports, ‘Chandu Champion’ has earned less than Rs 100 crore at the global box office. The film starring Kartik Aaryan is directed and co-produced by Kabir Khan. The film faced tough competition from ‘Munjya’, which possibly affected its box office performance. Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ Even after a week, the earnings of ‘Chandu Champion’ could have been affected.
