Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who is currently enjoying the success of Chandu Champion, starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, opened up about Salman Khan’s role in his career. The two worked together for the successful films ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. While the Tiger franchise was handled well by other filmmakers, many fans are waiting to see ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2’.

In a recent conversation with IndiaToday.in, Kabir admitted his desire and said that he and Salman will work together again only if they get the right script.

He said, “If there is a script, I would love to talk to Salman and he should also be excited about it. We have had a great collaboration. I can never underestimate his role in my career. We had a successful collaboration and created some iconic characters. I would love to do it (again), but it should be script based. We can’t just do any film, because that would make no sense. I can’t take anything to him, it has to be something great. And if we find that, we would love to work together again.”

Kabir Khan also spoke about the love the team of his latest film ‘Chandu Champion’ has been receiving. Calling it ‘overwhelming’, he admitted that he was worried about the reception the film would receive.

He said, “I have had a few commercial blockbusters but I have never received this kind of love. It makes you emotional. The way people have picked up the little details that Kartik and I have played is amazing. People are also appreciating the other teams, whether it is the cinematography, sound design or Pritam’s music, it feels really great. This kind of love stays for years, it is for generations to come. Every time the film comes on OTT or a TV channel, there is another wave of love and that is what makes it special.”

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Chandu Champion’ released in theatres on June 14. The film is based on the life of Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar.
