The court’s recent court verdict to dismiss his USD 400 million trial against actors and filmmakers Justin Baldoni Black Lively and Ryan Ryan Rrenolds. His lawyer, Brian Freedman, shared Baldoni’s response to TMZ Live on Tuesday, June 10, said, “What was Justin’s response to this? Similar to my response to it, which is this: it’s not right. It is not right.”
Brian Freedman said that Justin wants to tangle and add to Baldoni, “he knows who he is. What he is. What he has done. He knows what he has done. And he wants the truth to come out, and he wants to do it properly …. He is waiting for his day in court where he can tell the truth.”
Judge, Lewis J. Liman rejected the USD 400 million countersoot and USD 250 million complaint suit against Lively and Renolds against New York Times on 9 June. But the court gave Baldony’s legal team the option to amend parts of the case by 23 June.
Despite the decision, Freedman made it clear that the legal battle continues. “The matter is over by now, let’s just put it in this way,” he said.
Freedman also said that he plans to move forward with Liveli’s statement for some time in June. “We are going to move forward with the case, and we are going to show that there was no sexual harassment, and we are going to show that there was no smear campaign.”
What did Blake Liveli’s team say about the decision here
Blake Livali’s lawyer, Mike Gotlib, appeared on CNN on 9 June and said that the actress was committed to advancing her claims and demanding full public accountability for what happened to her. He described the court’s verdict as a clear message that the meaning of counterfeit cases would not be successful for silence victims.
Later that day, Livali’s legal team, including Gotlib and Ishra Hudson, issued a statement, in which the ruling was called a total victory and full vengeance. Liveli also posted on Instagram stories, which was called ‘derogatory’ and said it was ‘defeated’.
In response, Freedman rejected the declaration of victory as forecasting and false. He argued that Liveli’s allegations were no longer valid than before and he said that he was ready to make his statement in the near future.
On June 10, Livali lawyers issued another statement that no amount of spin, blaster, or creative arguments from Baldoni’s legal team could change, which he described as an embarrassing reality that the attempt to sue the Black and his family in oblivion had failed.
