Junior NTR from Percentage, Celebs Mourning Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao dies
Veteran Telugu actor and former MLA Kota Srinivasa Rao died on 13 July. Following the news of his death, several major figures in the Telugu film industry paid the heartiest tribute.

The Telugu film industry and its fans awakened the heartbreaking news of the death of veteran actor and former MLA Kota Srinivasa Rao on Sunday morning. He was 83 years old and died in the early hours of July 13. Soon after the news broke, the Telugu film industry, fans and members of both film and political fraternity paid tribute.
Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi in his long post on X called Rao a “multi -faced genius”. Recalling his brilliant career, he noted his commanding screen appearance and expressed grief over the “zero” left he left.
Mahesh Babu wrote, “Kota is sad to hear about the demise of Srinivasa Rao Garu .. This loss seems to be personal, who has grown up to see and learn his soul peacefully and learn. Sending strength and prayers to his family (SIC).”
JR NTR also expressed deep regrets and grief over his death, written, “Kota Srinivasa Rao Garu, which is enough. Unique acting acting. (SIC).”
Actor Ravi Teja, who collaborated with Srinivasa Rao in more than 10 films – included ‘Ni Kosam’, ‘Aniya’, ‘Mirapake’, and ‘Power’ – expressed deep grief and recalled the late actor’s intense influence on his career.
He wrote on X, “Growing up, seeing him, praised him, and learning from every performance. Kota Babai was like a family for me, I cherish the lovely memories of working with him. Rest in Peace, Kota Srinivasa Rao Garu. Om Shanti (SIC).”
Actor Vishnu Manchu also shared a hearty note, which remembered his time together on the set. A part of his tribute was read, “My heart is heavy with the disadvantage of Sri. Kota Srinivas Garu. An unprecedented actor, an unmatched talent, and a man whose presence was burnt every frame. He was a serious role, a villain, or comedy – he brought life in every character with a rare mastery, who brought life in every character with a rare mastery. He further expressed condolences to Rao’s family and said that the actor would always remember.
Mohan Babu also expressed his grief on X, wrote, “Dear quota, you will remember. Your talent, your presence, your soul – unforgettable. In a disadvantage for words. Praying for your family. Om Shanti (SIC).”

About Kota Srinivasa Rao
Kota Srinivasa Rao’s film career began about five decades, which began in the 1978 Telugu drama ‘Pranam Kharedu’. He acted in more than 750 films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam cinema. Known for his extraordinary versatility, Rao originally infected between villain, humor and character roles – nine Nandi Awards and prestigious Padma Shri earnings in 2015.
Some of his most memorable performances include Mencing Pratipas in ‘Gayam’, ‘Money’ and ‘Aha Na Palenta’ include Comic Genius and ‘Aa Naluguru’ and ‘Bomrilyu’ and ‘Bomrilyu’. Even in his later years, he remained active in the industry, with his final screen appearance in the 2023 Telugu film ‘Suvarna Sundari’.
His death was also mourned by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. In addition to his contribution to cinema, Kota Srinivasa Rao had an active political career, serving as an MLA from Vijayawada.
