Aamir Khan’s son and actor Junaid Khan, who recently made his acting debut, revealed that he had auditioned for his father’s role in ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. Talking about this during a recent interview, Junaid shared the things that could not happen due to several reasons.

During an interview with ETimes, Junaid revealed, “I actually auditioned for Laal Singh Chaddha, which papa had spoken about publicly, but it didn’t work out. Papa (Aamir Khan) was very keen that I do the film.”

Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ also starred Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. Directed by Advait Chandan, it was the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ iconic 1994 film ‘Forest Gump’. The film did not do well and bombed at the domestic box office.

Earlier, Aamir Khan refreshed old memories while talking to the media and told that his son Junaid Khan had given a test for his film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. Aamir told that when Junaid came back from Los Angeles (after studying theater), he was preparing for the film and wanted Advait Chandan to give a test before the shooting of the film started.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir’s son Junaid Khan recently made his debut with the Netflix film ‘Maharaj’. It also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.

Based on Saurabh Shah’s book and true events, Maharaj takes place in 1800s Bombay. It is the story of Karsandas Mulji (played by Khan), a courageous journalist and dedicated social reformer. The story focuses on his confrontation with a high priest or ‘Maharaj’ (played by Jaideep Ahlawat), who is accused of sexually abusing female devotees.
