Jr NTR and Koratala Siva reveal why Daavudi song was removed from Devara
Jr. NTR and Koratala Siva recently revealed in an interview that it was a difficult decision to remove the Daavudi song from Devara: Part 1 in order to maintain the emotional flow of the story. But eventually in response to increasing fan demand they decided to add it back.

Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva elaborated on their collaborative decision to exclude the much-awaited Daavudi song in the theatrical version of Devara: Part 1. Jr. NTR emphasized that this choice was made after thoughtful discussions with Shiva and editor Srikar Prasad.
“We felt like the film was traveling and getting serious,” he said. In fact, the story takes a serious turn, and we felt that a song at that point would break up the pace of the narration.
Despite the popularity of Jr. NTR’s dance performance, he underlined the importance of storytelling over entertainment, and said, “While telling the story, we don’t want to dilute its essence by including a song at that point.”
Koratala Siva echoed this sentiment and described this omission as “Junior NTR’s biggest sacrifice”. He noted that, while he wanted to include the song, he prioritized the film’s emotional trajectory over individual moments of spectacle.
After heavy requests from fans, the filmmakers decided to add the Dawoodi song to the film a week after its release. He believed that this addition would be in line with the overall narrative of the film as well as enhance the viewing experience. With Dawoodi now returning to the film, everyone is eager to see how the audience reacts to the song and how it fits into the emotional landscape of Devara.
Here is the song:
