Actor Johnny Lever’s daughter, Jamie Lever, revealed a harsh encounter during an audition, where she was asked to strip a video call. The actor-comedian recently shared in an interview that the audition was asked for an international project. However, the 37 -year -old said he quickly realized that it could be a scam.
During an interview ZoomLever reported that he was initially told that his role would be bold. However, the audition took a disturbed turn when “imagine that you have a 50 year old man, and you are trying to attract him.”
Immediately, he voiced his discomfort and requested to stick to the script, but was informed that there was no script and the blessings were required, potentially stripping. Jamie quickly felt that the situation could be a scam and the call was eliminated.
Lever recalled the incident and said, “He mentioned that there would be a video call. The script was not provided because they wanted it to be improved. At the scheduled time, I got the link and joined. I was informed that the director spoke to me directly. The person pretending to be the director claimed that he was traveling and could not turn on his video.”
This scenario raised her suspicion, eventually leading to her decision to end the call.
The ‘Housefull 4’ actor reflected how easily she could compromise, she “actually acted with naivete,” seeing that her video could be “recorded”. He emphasized the prevalence of such misleading practices in the industry, saying, “So many women are cheated and get caught under the guise of casting. I find incredibly lucky.”
Lever lived her experience as an opportunity to learn. He said, “I should not have even clicked on the link, but the presence of my mind saved me. I got nervous because it was the first time I faced such a situation in my life,” she expressed.
