Actor John Vijay accused of misbehavior, Chinmayi shares screenshots of complaints
Tamil actor John Vijay has been accused of abuse and harassment by a few women. Singer Chinmayi Sripada has shared screenshots of anonymous complaints on her ex’s account.

Tamil actor John Vijay has been accused of inappropriate behaviour and sexual misconduct by several women. On Friday, July 26, singer and voice artist Chinmayi Sripada shared screenshots of some of the anonymous complaints she received. A few days ago, a journalist wrote about her encounter with John Vijay and the efforts he made while waiting for an interview.
The complaint filed by Chinmayi accused John Vijay of staring at women at workplaces, pubs and restaurants and making them uncomfortable. The complaint also contained the statement of a journalist who claimed that John had touched her in a friendly manner.

These complaints are not new for John Vijay. During the #MeToo movement too, many women had accused him.
Radio jockey turned video jockey Sriranjani accused X of calling her at midnight on the pretext of talking about work.
#Me too This incident happened with actor John Vijay in 2014. Thanks to husband @NOTamitbhargav for this incident. And thank you @chinmayee @therestlessquill To make noise. I am speaking too! #time’s up @muthupradeep You know when this happened. pic.twitter.com/EfzqdgDvVH

At that time, Chinmayi had shared screenshots of several anonymous complaints under the #MeToo movement. She thanked Sriranjani for bringing out her story against John Vijay and also claimed that she had received three complaints from women.
Thank you for speaking up, Sriranjini.
I know you shared your story with me last week.
I also got to hear from three other girls their own stories about John Vijay.
Girls, know your strength. Speak up. It doesn’t matter if he’s your dad’s friend or not. — Chinmayi Sripada (@chinmayi) 17 October 2018
Soon after facing severe criticism in 2018, actor John Vijay apologised for his behaviour while speaking to Firstpost.
He said, “I am a very transparent person who speaks what’s on my heart. Not with any intention or ulterior motive. I understand that at times my jokes may not be funny to everyone and may seem insensitive. When I genuinely feel that someone does not appreciate what I have to say, is not on the same page and has been misunderstood, I remove myself from further conversation or being present in that space. I don’t actually remember the incidents mentioned on Twitter, I have not met these people alone anywhere nor have I asked them out. If my comments, which I found funny and witty, hurt anyone at any point of time then I would like to use this opportunity to state that I am also deeply hurt emotionally by my behaviour. This will be a lesson for me to know what to say to whom and when. I fully support this #MeToo movement. Had I not been dragged into this I would have been one of the first people to voice this issue and support this movement.”
John Vijay was last seen as a villain in Malayalam actor Dileep’s film ‘Thankamani’. For those who don’t know, Dileep is one of the accused in the Malayalam actor sexual harassment case, which shook the entire country in 2017.
These allegations against John Vijay did not affect his career. He continues to act in several languages. Some of his famous films include ‘Oram Po’, ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ and ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ among many others.
