- He urges sensitivity to the current needs of the country
In a special chat with India today, actor John Abraham, who is promoting his upcoming film ‘Tehran’, shared his views on the issue of working with Pakistani artists. In a clear and measured reflection on the complexities of border cross -border cooperation, John shared his views on cricket or film cooperation with Pakistanis.
When asked about his ideas on cricket and films with Pakistan players and artists, John said, “Speaking about my country, India, I would just ask to use three words what I want to say – India comes first.”
In further detail, he said, “This is simple. Through which medium my country is, what is my country, it is important to keep and understand the interests of your country in front of you. I am not saying that you are not sensitive. As an artist, I would like to work with any artist with you. I would like to come first.”
“You should pay attention to what your country needs at this time, and you should be sensitive to it instead of trying to catch the audience anywhere in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh or the world. They understand what an artist is doing. They understand that you don’t need to be sensitive. I don’t worry.”
Talking about your national interests, he said, “You have to be convinced of yourself, but that confidence has to come up with a sense of faith what you stand. I stand for my country. It is very important for my country. So it is very important. So my country will come first, and it is a non-parasical thing in my life.
John Abraham will be seen in the next ‘Tehran’. The film will stream on Zee5 from 14 August.
