Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas made headlines after their marriage and became one of the most popular couples in the Hollywood industry. However, the couple, who dated for several years before tying the knot, did not have a long-lasting marriage. Many people were heartbroken when they heard the news of Sophie and Joe’s divorce last year.
And now, a year after the singer filed for divorce, Turner and Jonas have reached a settlement. According to Florida court records filed on Sept. 6 and made available to PEOPLE on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the marriage between Jonas and Turner is irretrievably broken.
Although the details of their agreement have been kept confidential, court records show that it is in the best interest of both parties and their families.
The judge declared that the marriage between the parties was dissolved and both parties were restored to single status, sparing Jonas, 35, and Turner, 28, the 20-day waiting period required for a final judgment.
According to court records the outlet obtained at the time, Jonas filed for divorce from Turner on Sept. 5, 2023. According to the filing, “the marriage between the parties has irretrievably broken down.”
Turner claimed in documents filed on September 21, 2023, that their marriage ended abruptly following an argument on August 15, 2023. Days after Jonas’ filing, the Dark Phoenix actress claimed to have learned about their breakup through the media.
After starting dating in 2016, Sophie and Joe got engaged in 2017. In 2019, they got married in Las Vegas and also got married in France the same year. Sophie left her home in England to live in New York City with Joe.
