A Diversity The report shared the casting details for the series. “We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting,” an expert wrote in the notice.

The note further reads, “For each role, please submit qualified actors, regardless of ethnicity, gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other basis protected by law, unless otherwise specifically indicated.”

The application asked interested actors to submit two brief self-tapes, one of which must be a short poem or story – nothing Harry Potter-related.

“Please prepare a short poem or story of your choice. It can be from your favorite book, your favorite poem, a monologue from a play, or something you made up yourself. Please, no anything from ‘Harry Potter.’ Please use your own accent. 30 seconds maximum!” the casting call states. The second self-tape is “a short video in which we will tell you a little about you, including your birth date, height, and where you live. Also, please tell us about a family member, friend, or pet you are particularly attached to. Please use your own accent. One minute maximum.”

The deadline for submissions for this one is October 31, and the casting call indicates that filming will take place in the UK during 2025-2026. While no official release date has been set, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav mentioned during a February earnings call that the series is targeting a 2026 debut.

The Harry Potter series is expected to have seven seasons, each based on one book from J.K. Rowling’s series.
