Reliance Jio and Airtel have increased the prices of their prepaid plans. New plans of Jio and Airtel have come into effect from today. Both companies have given customers a few days to recharge with old plans to avoid paying more with the new 2024 prepaid plans. Those who missed this opportunity now have the option to choose only the best prepaid plans that offer more benefits at an affordable price. To make it easier for you, we have compiled a list of the best 2024 prepaid plans under Rs 500 that Airtel and Jio are currently offering.
Jio 2024 prepaid plans under Rs 500
All Jio prepaid plans offer unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. The main difference is only in terms of data and plan validity. The Rs 349 and Rs 399 plans offer 2GB and 2.5GB data per day. The Rs 449 plan offers 3GB data per day along with standard unlimited calls and SMS. All plans come with a validity of 28 days.
Note: If you have 5G connectivity in your area, it is better to buy the 2GB/day plan instead of 3G/day as Jio users are getting free (unlimited) 5G data. So, even if you exhaust the bundled 4G data, you still have free 5G data to use. Same is the case with Airtel.
Airtel 2024 prepaid plans under Rs 500
There are only two prepaid plans priced under Rs 500 that offer unlimited 5G data. The Rs 409 plan was earlier priced at Rs 359 but now offers 2.5GB data per day. The Rs 399 plan priced at Rs 449 has been increased to 3GB data per day. Both plans come with a validity period of 28 days. Like Jio, all Airtel plans come with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.
Jio and Airtel users: Key things to note to save money
Both Airtel and Jio are offering unlimited 5G data only with plans of 2GB/day and above. So, starting today, if you buy any other plan with 1.5GB/day or less than 2GB/day, you will not be able to enjoy the free 5G data even after your promised data gets exhausted.
Also, if you can spend more than Rs 500, I would say it is better to buy the 3-month plan because you get the same benefits, and the price per month of the 3-month pack is much less than the 28-day plan. For example, Jio’s Rs 859 plan offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day, and 2GB data/day for 84 days. So, you are basically paying Rs 286 per month in this 3-month pack. This is better than paying Rs 349 monthly for the same benefits.
