Jim Sarbh recently dismissed rumours that his comment about certain actors needing ‘mental therapy’ after playing specific roles was meant for Ranveer Singh. Jim and Ranveer worked together in ‘Padmaavat’, in which Jim played Malik Kafur and Ranveer played Alauddin Khilji.

Jim posted a long note on Instagram on Saturday, June 29, in which he wrote that none of the statements were against Ranveer Singh. He wrote, “I don’t usually respond to speculative videos and articles, because they’re boring and I think people know better. Of course, like some of you, I speculated wrong. Many people have forwarded things to me, and now journalists/interviewers are ‘identifying’ me as a ‘critic’, when I never mentioned anyone, let alone @ranveersingh (sic).”

The ‘Made In Heaven’ actor said, “I feel almost absurd to clarify this, but since people are running wild with videos and articles: nothing I said referred to Ranveer Singh. The video byte being shared is from the promotion of Made In Heaven Season 2, it’s been a full 5 years since Padmaavat released. For 5 years I had only lovely things to say about Ranveer as a co-actor – go find it. I still do.”

Jim concluded the note with, “Also: this is not an attack on the process. I like the process, and I like actors. The video is making fun of actors who exaggerate their process. I’m sure you’ve all met people who talk more about their work than about how they do it. I can’t wait for the next article or video shot over my shoulder.”

In the video that has gone viral on the internet, Jim can be heard saying, “There are a lot of actors who say ‘I was so caught up in my character that I had to go through mental therapy for weeks.’ Shut up bro, you didn’t even know your lines that day, what bullshit.”

People speculated that Jim was referring to Ranveer because after playing Alauddin Khilji, Ranveer revealed that he isolated himself, avoided socializing and experienced emotions that he didn’t like. He also revealed that he needed therapy after playing Khilji.
