The official trailer of Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s film Jigra was released today i.e. on 26 September. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film depicts the relationship between brother and sister. The trailer shows to what extent a sister can go to protect her younger brother. Jigra is scheduled to release in theaters on October 11.

The three minute and one second trailer of Jigra begins with Alia’s character waking up to a late night phone call. She is seen warning her brother, played by Vedang Raina, about something serious. When she learns that her brother has been arrested in another country, Alia becomes determined to take matters into her own hands and rescue him. Alia’s character is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to save her brother.

In one scene, she stands with a knife on her wrist and asks if a prisoner can meet his family under medical conditions. This scene shows her desperation to save her brother at any cost.

Alia has also co-produced Jigra with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Talking about the film, the actor had earlier said, “Just a little over a year later, we are all set to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful tale of courage, passion, and determination. I hope to continue supporting compelling stories that are authentic, enduringly timeless, and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them to life.”

Apart from Alia and Vedang, this crime-thriller also stars Manoj Pahwa in an important role.
