The collection of Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and starring Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Manoj Pahwa and others, increased by 40 percent during the Dussehra holidays. With Rs 6.30 crore on Saturday, the jailbreak-drama’s two-day collection stands at Rs 10.80 crore. Jigra is headed for a weekend of Rs 17 crore and that is definitely not an optimal result. The film will depend on a strong hold to reach a respectable final result after the weekend.
Jigra increases by 40 percent on Saturday, the day of Dussehra.
Jigra was lagging behind Vicky Vidya’s Woh video on the first day, but on the second day it has somehow equaled the collection of the comedy-drama. If Jigra beats Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala video on Sunday, it will probably perform better on weekdays too, and become a more loved Hindi film this Dussehra. The Alia Bhatt starrer has already taken a big opening and is trending better than its competing releases internationally.
Jigra leading Vicky Vidya’s ‘Woh Wala’ video doesn’t make much sense nor will it because there is already a huge difference in the size of the two films. Jigra is not only a big film in terms of production cost, but it is also big in terms of face value.
Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan dominates the Indian box office this Dussehra
Superstar Rajinikanth’s Tamil film Vettaiyaan is in the news this Dussehra. The battle for second place is between two major Hindi releases. Talking about the economics of Jigra, it has recovered all its costs from the sale of non-theatrical rights alone. However the verdict of the film is based only on his dramatic performance and not on the recovery.
Jigra’s daily Bharat Net collection is as follows
