The much-awaited teaser trailer of the film Jigra was released today, September 8, 2024. It shows Alia Bhatt in a powerful avatar as she tries everything possible to save her brother, played by Vedang Raina. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma praised the teaser trailer and said that Alia is ‘exhibiting power like Sarkarini.’
Today, soon after the release of the teaser trailer of Jigra, Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the same. Giving a special mention to director Vasan Bala and actress Alia Bhatt, he said, “Just fucking wow..hey @vasan_bala I am overwhelmed with your teaser and @alia08 is showing power like a sarkarini.”

RGV made a clever reference to his own film series Sarkar, which starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. Interestingly, there is a scene in the teaser trailer where Alia’s character says, “Ab toh Bachchan hi banna hai.”

The 2 minute 49 second teaser of Jigra focuses on the emotional bond between Alia Bhatt’s Satya and Vedang Raina’s Ankur. Manoj Pahwa is seen helping Satya as she prepares to free her brother from jail. The song Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka plays in the background. The recreated version is sung by Vedang himself.
Jigra is an action thriller directed by Vasan Bala. Presented by Viacom 18 Studios, Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Somen Mishra.
The film is written by Debashish Irengbam and Vasan Bala. The film will release in theaters on 11 October 2024 on the Dussehra weekend.
