K-drama star Ji Chang-wook recently spoke about staying with his mother despite being in his 30s. The actor said that his mother is his ‘driving force’.

South Korean star Ji Chang-wook recently opened up about living with his mother, who is over 30. Chang-wook expressed affection for his mother and called her his ‘driving force’.
“My mother is my driving force. My father died early and my mother suffered a lot. It was very difficult,” the actor said in a video uploaded to tvN’s YouTube channel You Quiz on the Block.
Chang-wook explained that after his father’s untimely death, the actor took it upon himself to provide for his family: “In a way, I think I had a lot of thoughts ever since I was young, that I should protect my mother as a son, as a family, as a person.”
This is not the first time the versatile actor has spoken about his relationship with his mother. He had earlier also opened up about it and said that being with his mother at this point in his life also helps his mental health.
“It’s not that I’m a devoted son. Since she lives alone and if I stayed out, I think she would get very lonely. Also, living with my mom helps my mental health, because when I’m working, I sometimes get depressed. So if I stayed alone in the dark, I think it would be difficult for me. The fact that when I go home, my mom is there living a normal life, laughing while watching TV with the lights on, eating food, and doing other daily things like that helps me relax and recover,” Chang-wook previously explained.
Talking about work, the actor was last seen in the romantic drama Welcome to Samdalri.
