Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s whirlwind romance is nearing its end. Sources close to the couple say divorce papers have been finalized but not yet filed. The couple is working on settling arrangements and timing a public announcement with a joint statement.

Jennifer and Ben have been living separately for several months and although they have not commented on the separation, reports of their marital issues have increased. Lopez’s friends have described Affleck’s recent actions, including buying a new home in Los Angeles and skipping his wife’s birthday and their second wedding anniversary, as a ‘stab to the heart’.

“They finalised the divorce papers a month ago but are now waiting for the right time to hand them in,” a source told the Daily Mail.

He also added, “At that time, they will release a joint statement explaining how much they love each other and how they struggled to make it work but couldn’t. Honestly, in the end they couldn’t compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it.”

Many insiders and friends revealed how much Jennifer loves Ben and is still not ready to give up. However, Affleck hinted at his intentions when he moved out of their shared mansion and into a separate home in Brentwood. The pair were last seen together on May 30 and have been away from each other ever since.

They spent their summer holidays separately, with Jennifer traveling to Europe and New York while Ben stayed in LA with their kids. Now that Ben is buying his own home in LA and their Beverly Hills house is also on the market, reports are saying their divorce is inevitable.
