Jayam Ravi on wife’s allegation about divorce: Families, she and I had discussed it
Actor Jayam Ravi has released a statement in response to his estranged wife Aarti’s claim that she was taken by surprise by the divorce announcement. He claimed that Aarti, his family and he had discussed the matter.

Actor Jayam Ravi, who recently made headlines by announcing his divorce from his wife Aarti, responded to his statement about the unexpected nature of the announcement. Aarti had claimed that she was not aware of the decision and had not given her consent to it. In response, Jayam Ravi revealed that he had sent her legal notices before making the public announcement. Additionally, the actor claimed that he had discussed the matter with both Aarti and her family.
while talking to Hindustan Times Jayam Ravi responded to Aarti’s allegations and shared that he “sent two legal notices to Aarti in the months before September 9, 2024” and she did not respond to any of them. He said, “I was forced to make the divorce announcement public because there were already so many rumours, and I am accountable to my fans. How could I stay silent when everyone was talking about it in the media? I had already initiated legal proceedings and I felt it needed to be addressed.”

Responding to Aarti’s allegation that Jayam was incommunicado and that they never discussed divorce, the actor said, “This is absolutely not true. Both our families and she and I discussed it together. Then they gave us space and she and I had a separate conversation and I told her clearly that this is what I wanted. So, she and her family were fully aware of it. After that, Aarti’s father and I spoke about the matter. How can they claim the contrary?”

In his statement, Jayam explained that after a certain period of time, he decided to file for divorce due to the feeling of extreme suffocation. He revealed that he left home several months ago, taking only a car. Jayam described himself as a nomad at the moment.
When asked where he lives now, Jayam replied, “I moved to Mumbai, but I keep visiting Chennai frequently. In fact, I went there in June for my elder son Aarav’s birthday and spent time with him. I am very accessible to my kids, Aarav and Ayan.”
Jayam Ravi and his wife Aarti were married in June 2009. They are parents to two sons, Aarav and Ayan.
