Actress-politician Jaya Bachchan has recently opened up about her views on marriage and family in an interview and said that she considers the institution of marriage to be obsolete. During the discussion, Bachchan addressed her experiences as a grandmother and shared personal thoughts on her long-standing marriage with Amitabh Bachchan.
When Jaya Bachchan was questioned about marriage and whether she believes it has become obsolete in modern times, she said, “Yes, absolutely. I am a grandmother now, and Navya will be 28 in a few days. I am too old to give advice to today’s young girls about child-rearing. Things have changed a lot. Today, these little kids are so smart, and they will outwit you.”
Addressing his granddaughter Navya directly, Bachchan made his point of view clear, saying, “I don’t want Navya to get married.”
He expressed his belief that legal formalities should not define the authenticity of a relationship.
