When Jaya Bachchan was questioned about marriage and whether she believes it has become obsolete in modern times, she said, “Yes, absolutely. I am a grandmother now, and Navya will be 28 in a few days. I am too old to give advice to today’s young girls about child-rearing. Things have changed a lot. Today, these little kids are so smart, and they will outwit you.”
Addressing his granddaughter Navya directly, Bachchan made his point of view clear, saying, “I don’t want Navya to get married.”
He expressed his belief that legal formalities should not define the authenticity of a relationship.
