Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar were present at the trailer launch of the documentary series ‘Angry Young Men’. At the event, Javed Akhtar talked about Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan and how they were in their childhood. Akhtar described Salman Khan as a ‘shy, quiet’ child, while calling Arbaaz Khan a ‘regular flirter’.
Addressing the audience at the launch, Javed Akhtar said, “Our children told some very amazing things about us today. But they were very young and they don’t remember much. We remember.”
He then recalled, “When I first met Salim sahab, Salman was not even a year old. It was the year 1965. Today he is really handsome, but he has been handsome since childhood. He was an exceptionally beautiful child. There was a small black and white photograph of him in their living room. I don’t know if it is still there or not. Yes, it is lost again, I don’t know (Or it is lost, I don’t know). The rest of the children were born before me. Today Salman is He-Man and a dashing hero, but he was a very shy and quiet child who spoke very little. The naughty kid was Arbaaz (The naughty kid was Arbaaz).”
At this Arbaaz waved his hand towards the audience and Javed Akhtar further said, “He was a regular flirter. He would befriend Salim sahab’s friends and form a special bond with them. Arbaaz doesn’t remember what he did as a child. When people used to meet him, he used to think that he was a fool.” This is such an amazing baby (That he is a wonderful child). Even as a child, Arbaaz never messed up his hair. Even at the age of six, he would comb his hair. Imagine a six-year-old doing that! I have never seen anything like that. He loved himself a lot.”
