CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), in its statement, termed the reports of actor Vijay’s Jan Nayakan leak as “baseless”. The CBFC has issued a clarification to address these claims.

The CBFC has said that it employs a secure key delivery message (KDM) system for all theatrical films submitted for certification, as reported Press Information Bureau. The report mentions that this system ensures that access to the film content is password protected, with the KDM remaining exclusively with the producer or filmmaker.

Without valid KDM, it is not possible to access or watch the movie. This measure is to maintain the security and confidentiality of the content presented.

Regarding Jan Nayakan, the Digital Cinema Package (DCP) was officially handed over to the applicant on March 17 in Mumbai with due acknowledgement, the CBFC clarified in the statement. Since then, the DCP is in the possession of the applicant.

The production company, KVN Productions, in its statement emphasized that downloading, viewing, storing, forwarding, sharing, uploading or transmitting the leaked content through WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, Xx, YouTube, website, torrent or any other medium is a criminal offense and a violation of copyright laws.

The leak comes amid ongoing delays for the film, which has faced certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Originally scheduled to be released in theaters on January 9, the film’s release was postponed.

Although the producers agreed to approach the vetting committee, the film has not yet received certification. Industry sources have also linked the delay to Vijay’s participation in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections as head of Tamika’s Vetri Kazhagam.

Jan Naygan This is Vijay’s farewell film. The film has not received certification yet.
