Special teams were formed within the cyber crime wing to address various aspects of the investigation. These teams focused on identifying and blocking infringing URLs, conducting digital forensic analysis, and locating people involved in uploading and sharing pirated copies.

Investigation revealed that the accused used cloud storage platforms and shared drive links to disseminate pirated content. Digital evidence was seized from the arrested persons, who were later remanded to judicial custody.

Efforts to monitor cyberspace are ongoing, with authorities actively patrolling social media platforms, websites and file-sharing services to prevent further spread of illegal content. Requests to block more than 300 infringing links have been initiated, and further removal actions are underway.

The Cyber ​​Crime Wing has also issued an advisory urging the public not to download, stream or share pirated copies of Jan Nayakan or other copyrighted material. It warned that piracy is a cognizable offense and those involved will face stringent legal consequences.

The authorities also warned that strict action will be taken against persons knowingly promoting or circulating pirated content through social media, messaging platforms or websites. The investigation is ongoing to identify additional criminals involved in the crime.

Meanwhile, KVN Productions issued a statement asking people to immediately remove the illegal links and warned of legal action. Actor Vijay is yet to react to this leak as he is busy with political campaigning for his party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
