Speaking of the film’s themes, Gunn previously described it as “a movie about kindness” and “being good”, emphasizing his belief in the inherent goodness of humanity. Although principal photography was completed in July, Gunn recently revealed that he had returned to the production for “pickup shots” to improve the film, and clarified that these were not reshoots.
