Will Ferrell impressed audiences with his role as William/Buddy in the Christmas movie Elf. In a conversation with People Magazine, the actor-comedian shared that the film will have a special place in his heart.
He also revealed what impact the film has had on him. Ferrell shared that the film’s viewership has grown over the years, not just during the holiday season but throughout the year.
Speaking to the entertainment portal, the comedian shared that “It’s really quite special.” He added, “I mean, it’s growing rapidly, and it continues to establish itself as a holiday classic for people. I’m very fortunate to have a film like that in my catalog.”
Ferrell remembered that fans came up to him and praised the film. The actor said that he never knows which content will be liked by the audience. He explained, “You never have any idea what’s going to happen to people, and I love the fact that this movie is reaching people in a way that’s so incredible.”
As for the film, Ferrell stars alongside Zooey Deschanel, Peter Dinklage, Bob Newhart, Ed Asner, and James Caan. The film was directed by Jon Favreau.

Meanwhile, a sequel was also made, but the actor refused to reprise his role. Speaking previously to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor had shared, “I had to promote the movie from an honest place, which would have been like, ‘Oh no, this is not good. I just couldn’t turn it down for so much money.’ ‘”
He continued, “And I thought, ‘Can I really say those words? I don’t think I can do that, so I guess I can’t do the movie.'”
Elf made $220 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of $33 million. The film tells the story of Buddy, who spends his childhood among dwarfs.
The film’s synopsis reads, “Buddy, a human, grows up among elves at the North Pole. When he discovers that he is not an elf, he travels to New York to search for his biological father.
Elf is available to stream on OTT platforms.
