Infosys is reportedly preparing to offer a salary hike of 6-8 percent to its employees, the salary hike will be rolled out in two phases, starting from January 1, 2025 and April 1, 2025. IT giant CNBC is resuming its salary revision process after a previous delay.

Infosys Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sangharajka indicated that these salary hikes are likely to impact the company’s margins in the last quarter of FY25 and the first quarter of FY26. The increase is linked to the performance appraisal cycle, which covers the period from September 2022 to October 2023.

Eligible employees receive their performance ratings in December 2023, although the pay increase, which typically takes effect in July, was delayed last year. The last round of pay revision was implemented in November 2023. It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Infosys has adjusted its salary hike timeline.

In FY22, Infosys had put a pause on salary hikes to save cash, but it restarted its appraisal process in October 2023. Employees received their salary revision letters till December 2023, reinstating the company’s standard review and compensation process.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru-based company saw a growth in its workforce, with a net addition of 5,591 employees during the October-December 2024 quarter, taking its total employee strength to 323,379 by the end of September 2024. Infosys also reported a net profit of Rs 6,806 crore. This represents a growth of 4.6 per cent for the December quarter of FY2015, indicating the industry’s resilience despite challenges.

Additionally, it was recently reported that Infosys plans to hire over 20,000 freshers in FY2026, according to Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sangharajka, as the company looks to meet demand across industries and ramp up discretionary spending. Trying to improve. Speaking on January 16, Sangharajka mentioned that the company is on track to meet its target of hiring around 15,000 freshers by the end of FY2025.

This hiring strategy is in contrast to HCLTech, a key competitor, which recently reduced its fresh hiring target from 10,000 to 7,000 due to efforts to increase efficiency through measures such as Project Ascend.

Infosys recently added 5,591 employees in the third quarter ended December 31, the second consecutive quarter of positive employee headcount.

Salil Parekh said, “We have had strong hiring in the third quarter with an expansion of over 5,000 employees. We see (hiring) based on some of our discretionary (spending), this will continue. But there will be seasonal variations, as That we see in our revenues.” Infosys CEO and MD said.
