Jr. NTR and director Prashanth Neel are currently working on their first collaboration, tentatively titled NTRNeel (Dragon). Initially, it was speculated that Minnal Murali fame Tovino Thomas would be seen as the antagonist in the film. However, the actor has now quashed the rumors and confirmed that he is not a part of the project.
Tovino Thomas confirms not being a part of NTRNIL
In a recent interaction with Telugu media during the promotion of his upcoming release Pallichattambi, Tovino Thomas Confirmed that he is not doing the Jr NTR starrer due to scheduling conflicts.
“It has been very difficult for me to allot dates, so I am not doing that,” the actor said.
For those unaware, there were speculations that Tovino Thomas will be making his Telugu debut opposite Jr NTR in the upcoming epic action film. However, it appears that the actor had to leave the role. Although further details about the film have not been revealed yet, it is expected to star Rukmini Vasanth in the co-lead role.
Junior NTR and Tovino Thomas’s work front
jr ntr He was last seen in an important role in Hrithik Roshan-starrer War 2. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film serves as the sequel to 2019’s War and is the latest installment in the YRF spy universe.
Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Varun Badola and many others in lead roles. It is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
At the same time, Tovino Thomas will be seen in the lead role. Pallichattambi: Origin. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the upcoming film is touted to be a period action drama that tells the story of a mischievous man living on the margins of society, who survives through wits and small-scale schemes.
When trouble overwhelms him, it becomes even more difficult to stay one step ahead. As relationships and past options begin to close down, escape seems impossible, survival depends on her quick thinking and risky decisions.
Apart from Tovino, the film also stars Kayadu Lohar as the co-lead, along with Vijayaraghavan, Johnny Antony, Sudheer Karamana, Srijit Ravi, Prashanth Alexander and others in lead roles. Additionally, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also expected to play a cameo role. The film will be released in theaters on April 10, 2026.
Looking ahead, the actor also has Athiradi in the upcoming lineup. Co-starring Vineeth Sreenivasan and Basil Joseph, the film is scheduled to release in theaters on May 14, 2026.
