Krysten Ritter is “open” to reprising her role as Jessica Jones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter was speaking in a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 interview when he responded to Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, TV and animation Brad Winderbaum expressing great interest in bringing back Jessica Jones. Ritter calls Brad Winderbaum’s statement exciting and claims that he would be ready to commit to Marvel at any time.

Jessica Jones is a part of Marvel’s Defenders initiative. When asked at the D23 Brazil Fan Expo which Defenders he would like to see return to the MCU, Winderbaum immediately answered Jessica Jones. The Breaking Bad actress responded to ComicBook, saying, “Brad Winderbaum said that? That’s really exciting to hear. Isn’t he the same guy who calls?”

She added, “Come on, Brad! Let’s get this started. Let’s do it. I’ll be ready.”

Melissa Rosenberg originally developed the show. It ran for three critically acclaimed seasons from 2015 to 2019 and originally streamed on Netflix. Ritter portrayed the title character, a superhero who was now a private investigator and was part of an overall storyline that concluded with The Defenders. The show paired Jessica Jones with Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist in a crossover. The show stars Ritter alongside David Tennant, Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor, Eka Darvill, Mike Colter, Will Travel, Erin Moriarty and others.

Although Netflix has canceled the Marvel series and Disney+ is now its streaming home, The Defenders characters are returning to the MCU. For example, 2025’s Daredevil: Born Again will see the return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively.

As the MCU continues to bring back fan-favorite heroes, Krysten Ritter’s excitement about the possibility of Jessica Jones’ future makes fans even more excited for Marvel’s new phase.
