It doesn’t matter whether it’s acting or singing, Ariana Grande knows how to wow audiences with whatever she chooses to do professionally. After the release of his upcoming acting venture, Wicked, we might get to see more such projects as he has revealed about his focus towards acting in his career.
Grande was featured on SNL star, Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast. While discussing, the Bed singer revealed that playing Glinda in Wicked made her want to shift her focus from pop music to musical theatre.
Talking about acting in theater, Grande said, “It’s my heart.” She said that she will say something which will scare her fans and everyone. She expressed that she loved them and that they would get through this.
She said, “I’ll always keep making music, I’ll always keep going on stage, I’ll always keep making pop stuff, I pinky promise. But I don’t think I see the next 10 years being the same at the pace I’ve been doing it for the last 10 years.”
The Victorious alumna shared that she’s reconnecting with the part of herself that started in musical theater and that loves comedy, and it felt right for her to do that — “using these parts of myself Finding roles to do and putting them in little houses and characters and bits and voices and songs.
The Positions singer continued, “Whatever makes sense, or whatever roles fit us, or where I can do a really good job or respect the material, I’d really love to do that . I think it’s much better for me. I’m getting emotional.” She said it was better for her and became emotional. For those unaware, Grande has previously worked as a child actor on Broadway, starring in 13: The Musical.
When Grande hosted Saturday Night Live in October, the stressed-out son shared on the podcast about his conversation with Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks. The 7 Rings singer shared that the veteran musician wrote a letter to him a few years ago and they spoke once but never met each other.
Yang then said that she and Grande were already on the floor laughing and then they brought up Nicks and he knew to back off right away.
The SNL cast shared that Nicks held the singer’s hand and expressed how much she liked the music video for We Can’t Be Friends. Grande said the moment was “surreal”.
