In the last few days, several reports claimed that a mystery virus has increased in Russia, causing severe respiratory symptoms.
Reports have claimed that people have been seeing symptoms such as muscle weakness and long -term high fever, with many coughs.
Amid growing concerns, Russian health officials have rejected the reports of unknown viruses, clarifying that according to a report by Newsweek, any new pathogens have not been detected for common respiratory infections and have not been held responsible.
After Russian media, concerns were reported on a possible outbreak, which reported a mysterious disease affecting people in many cities. Initial reports claimed that patients have severe cough, fever and body pain despite negative testing for Kovid -19 and influenza.
However, Russia’s public health watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor dismissed these claims: “There is no evidence of a new or unknown virus roaming in the Russian Federation.” Officials said that cases are prone to mycoplasma pneumonia, a bacterial infection that can mimic the symptoms of the flu.
The first claim of a mystery virus appeared on March 29 through a Telegram news channel shot in Russia. Some patients allegedly developed fit, permanent weeks of severe cough, a woman claimed that she eats blood even after taking antibiotics.
The mainstream media raised these reports, further speculation. Social media users also shared long disease experiences, some said their symptoms were worse than Covid-19.
Although health officials have assured the public, there are doubts.
Many Russians continue to mistrust the official statements, especially after concerns on transparency during the Kovid -19 epidemic. The newsweek report states that previous suspicion on Russia’s vaccine rollout has contributed to the ongoing war for public health message.
For now, Russian officials insisted that the situation is under control and there is no need for alarm.
