The Israeli military said on Tuesday that Iran had fired missiles at Israel and that all civilians in the country were in bomb shelters. The attack comes amid Israeli ground attacks in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah and days after the terrorist organization’s commander, Hassan Nasrallah, and a top official of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in Israeli strikes in Beirut.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry also cited the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and said at 10.08 pm IST that the missiles were fired “a short time ago”. Confirming the attack, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said it was in response to the killing of Nasrallah, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh and its own senior commander Abbas Nilforoshan. Reuters quoted Israeli media as saying that about 100 missiles were launched.
Video shows debris from missiles intercepted by Israel’s famous Iron Dome and Arrow defense systems falling on Tel Aviv. The Israeli Defense Forces also confirmed that explosions were heard “in Jerusalem and elsewhere”. There is no news of any casualty yet.
According to a report by news agency AFP, the army said in a statement to the Israelis, “Iran’s attack continues. You are requested to remain in a safe place until further notice. The explosions you hear are from interception or “Are from fallen projectiles.”

It said, “In the past few minutes, the Home Front Command has distributed life-saving instructions to various areas across the country. The IDF is and will make every possible effort to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.”
