Big launches by Apple, Samsung and Google may be planned for this year, but flagship launches are not really planned for this year. Some brands like Vivo and OnePlus have yet to have global launches for their flagship phones, and they are all scheduled before 2024 ends. One such expected release is from Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO, which is expected to launch its latest flagship, the iQOO 13, in November 2024. Although the company has not officially confirmed the release, it usually refreshes its flagship line during this period. Fueling speculations about the imminent launch, a leak on Chinese social media platform Weibo has revealed that the iQOO 13 will be powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is expected to debut at the Snapdragon Summit in late October 2024. Will start in.
Here is the complete list of all the smartphones that are scheduled to launch in October 2024.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to come in two variants: a standard model (SM8750) and a performance-focused version (SM8750P). The standard chipset will likely power devices like the iQOO 13 and Xiaomi 15, while the performance version could be reserved for high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to the leaked datasheet, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will emphasize both performance and efficiency, featuring Qualcomm’s custom Orion CPU cores and being built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. The chipset is expected to provide advanced AI capabilities with a dedicated Low Power Artificial Intelligence (LPAI) subsystem for on-device AI functions such as camera, audio and sensor functions.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will have a 2+6 core configuration, with two high-performance cores clocked at 4.0GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 2.8GHz. Other notable components include the Adreno 830 GPU, Spectra ISP for camera enhancements, and Qualcomm’s FastConnect 7900 modem, which will support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
In terms of pricing, the iQOO 13 is expected to be positioned similarly to its predecessor, the iQOO 12, which was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 49,999. With the latest hardware, advanced AI features and competitive pricing, iQOO aims to maintain its reputation as a leader in delivering high-performance devices at accessible prices.
Given the impressive specifications and competitive pricing strategy, the iQOO 13 is set to attract a wide range of tech enthusiasts when it hits the market in late 2024.
