Positioned as a more affordable alternative to Apple’s flagship models, the SE line has consistently attracted users looking for quality hardware and performance. Low price point. According to recent leaks, the fourth-generation SE could be Apple’s most impressive budget phone yet, with it inheriting many features from the flagship iPhone 14 and the new model.
iPhone SE 4: price leaked
Supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo has reported that Apple will begin mass production of the fourth-generation iPhone SE in December. Kuo shared in a recent blog post that Apple is projected to produce about 8.6 million units of the new model in the first quarter of the upcoming year, which could be launched in March or April 2024.
According to the latest leak, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a retail price of between $499 and $549, which is higher than the iPhone SE 3’s starting price of $429. In India, while the SE 3 starts at Rs 43,900, the SE 4 is expected to be priced between Rs 51,000 and Rs 56,000.
Expected specifications of iPhone SE 4: From design to camera
One of the standout updates is the expected redesign of the SE 4, which moves away from the older, iPhone 8-based design to look closer to the iPhone XR or iPhone 12. This means a larger 6.06-inch OLED display, which differs from the smaller LCD screen of the previous SE model (4.7-inch).
Following Apple’s recent models, the design is also expected to abandon the traditional Touch ID-enabled home button in favor of Face ID. This change will mean thinner bezels and a more modern look, bringing the SE lineup closer to the design standard of Apple’s current offerings.
The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to run on Apple’s latest A18 chipset, which will align with the base model of the iPhone 16 series. Additionally, the SE4 is expected to offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage – which is a significant increase from the 4GB of RAM in the previous model. This memory increase aligns with the RAM bump in the iPhone 16 lineup, which is designed to support advanced Apple Intelligence features.
Battery life also seems to be improving, as the iPhone SE 4 is said to include a 3,279mAh battery, up from the 2,018mAh capacity in the previous version. This increase complements the larger display size, which has reportedly increased from 4.7 inches to 6.06 inches. Charging speed on the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be 20W, but it may also get MagSafe charging compatibility for added convenience.
In terms of photography, the SE 4 is expected to come with a single-lens rear camera, possibly a 48-megapixel sensor, supported by some of Apple’s computational photography software like Smart HDR and Night Mode. Although it won’t have the dual or triple-camera setup of more expensive models, this camera should be competitive for everyday photography and social media use. It may also have a 12-megapixel front camera for selfies. Apple is also expected to include USB-C, support for Wi-Fi 6, and an IP68 rating for water and dust protection.
With these rumored updates, the iPhone SE 4 could redefine expectations for budget smartphones. If these specifications hold true, Apple’s next SE model could offer an attractive mix of modern design, reliable performance, and essential features – all at a fraction of the price of flagship iPhones.
