It has exceeded half a decade since the first foldable smartphone launch. In 2019, the first foldable phone (royol flexpai) was unveiled, but the leading tech veteran, Apple has not yet entered the race. However, rumors and leaks indicate that iPhones are also going to be twisted quite literally. The speculation is that the iPhone 18, which may be launched in September 2026, will include a foldable device in the series. This is not. While the iPhone 17 series has not been launched yet, the iPhone is making 18 times headlines. Recently a leak has shared details about the internal performance of the iPhone fold.
iPhone fold internal performance details leaked
Weibo-based source shows a new leak from the digital chat station that Apple’s upcoming iPhone fold will have an internal performance with about 4: 3 aspect ratio. This design option is aimed at maintaining visual stability with external performance, allegedly ensuring spontaneous compatibility with existing iPad software.
Apple has long followed the 4: 3 aspect ratio in its iPad and iPad Pro model, as it provides a well -balanced experience in both portrait and landscape orientation. The format is well suited for tasks such as especially reading, browsing and split-screen multitasking. The only exception has been the 8.3-inch iPad mini, which adopts a slightly different 3: 2 aspect ratio to adjust its long, narrow frame.
Earlier, the digital chat station also shared the alleged dimensions of the iPhone fold, claiming that it would have a 7.8-inch folding internal screen with a 5.5-inch external display. These details have since been validated by the famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who further stated that the internal screen will be “crease-free”.
iPhone fold: what we know
Apple is ready to launch its first foldable iPhone, which marks a major step in the rapidly expandable smartphone market. However, curious fans are expected to start in late 2026, with a possible release in 2027.
One of the most discussed aspects of the iPhone fold is its ultra-thunder design. Reports suggest that when it appears, the device will measure only 4.5 mm thick, allowing it one of the thinnest foldables available. In its folded position, it is expected to be between 9 mm and 9.5 mm thick. To achieve this level of thinness, Apple can release the face ID in favor of integrating the touch ID in the power button, freeing the internal space.
Another standout feature can be the titanium chassis, leading to a premium look and feeling, while the durability is ensured. Battery life is also a major area of focus, in which Apple is reportedly developing a high-gradation battery, although the nuances on capacity are unclear.
As an exciting sound as these progresses, the iPhone fold is expected to come up with a heavy price tag. The leak suggests that it can start at approximately $ 2,300 (about Rs 1,97,000), it can be placed in position as a luxury product for the purpose of early adoptors.
