This year, Apple launched two iPhones with the same camera – iPhone 16e and iPhone Air. What makes the iPhone Air different is that it is the first iPhone to have a single camera but with 2x telephoto zoom. The zoom is not optical and is done through digital cropping, but we found the camera to be quite good, and it can produce good shots.

Negative 1: but only one camera

But, at the end of the day, it remains a single rear camera setup. You’ll miss the versatility that the iPhone 17 Pro models offer with separate ultrawide and telephoto sensors. Even the base iPhone 17 comes with ultrawide. Thus, while the iPhone Air will be adequate for your everyday photography needs, be it group photos or Insta uploads, the camera is not its strong suit.

Second: Big deal on battery

Now, the slim form factor of the iPhone Air comes at a cost and that price is the battery. Compared to the iPhone 17 series, the iPhone Air will fall short in this regard.
