A fresh leak has revealed that all four models in the iPhone 17 series will get a major upgrade in the camera. The devices will feature a 24-megapixel camera on the front. This information comes from Apple analyst Jeff Pu, who shared his insights in a research note for investment bank Haitong, which was obtained by MacRumors.

According to the report by Pu, the iPhone 17 lineup will include four models, the iPhone 17, tentatively named iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These are said to feature a 24-megapixel front camera with six plastic lens elements. This will be a big improvement over the current iPhone 15 models, which are equipped with a 12-megapixel front camera with five plastic lens elements.

Jeff Pu’s insights match previous predictions made by another reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In January, Kuo had indicated that at least one model in the iPhone 17 series will feature a 24-megapixel front camera with a six-piece lens. The convergence of these reports from multiple reputable sources makes this upgrade more likely.

The new 24-megapixel resolution is expected to significantly improve image quality, allowing for more detail and clarity.
