As Apple’s traditional September iPhone launch event draws closer, rumors find around the iPhone 17 series, and especially pro variants, are in full swing. From a potentially striking new color option to a corrected camera system and a powerful new A19 Pro chip, rumors and leaks are giving us a secret glimpse on what we expect from Apple’s upcoming flagship.

iPhone 17 Pro launch date and availability

Apple is expected to launch its iPhone 17 line-up in early September 2025. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg suggests that the official launch event may be held from 8 to 10 September. After the announcement, pre-order is estimated to open by Friday, September 12, with global retail availability and shipment starting around 19 September.

This year, the line-up is expected to include four iPhone variants: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new iPhone 17 Air. The air variants are asked to replace the existing iPhone Plus, giving users a slimmer form factor.

For pricing, the iPhone 17 series is expected to reach an initial price of Rs 79,900, similar to the iPhone 16. However, inflation and ongoing tariff war may lead to a possible price increase. The Pro model is expected to reach an initial price of about Rs 1,45,000.

iPhone 17 Pro required design change

The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to achieve an important design change at the back. According to reports by Apple analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo and Sunny Dickson, the iPhone 17 Pro may have a rear panel feature, which is potentially prepared from a mixture of aluminum and glass. This new design will mark a step away from the full titanium frame seen in the iPhone 16 Pro model.

One of the causes of Apple change in some areas while maintaining wireless charging capabilities is likely to improve structural power in some areas. In addition to the new materials, Leaks suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro Series may have a large, more rectangular camera bump with round corners, which is somewhat similar to Google’s pixel phone.
