Apple has finally launched the next edition of its standard iPhone lineup in India on iPhone 17. The new model makes a slightly larger screen, a more durable body and performance and major improvement in cameras. The iPhone 17 does not carry the headline-hostel changes of its pro counterparts, but it still packs significant improvement in many areas. The iPhone 17 will be available in Lavender, Mist Blue, SEZ, White and Black in 256GB and 512GB storage capacity. Familiar design, new colors with better durability

At first glance, the iPhone 17 can look the same as the iPhone 16, but Apple has worked on making the design strong and more polished. The company says that the new body is “more durable”, which is aid by an updated ceramic shield 2 layer on the front glass. This advanced protective glass is claimed to be three times more scratch resistant than before. Apple has also implemented a new coating at the atomic level to make the screen hard against everyday wear. Combined with a seven-layer anti-reflector coating, the phone should be easier to use in bright external conditions as well as feel strong.

The frame continues to follow the flat-edge design language introduced with the iPhone 12, but the corners are slightly softened to make it more comfortable. The back has a matte finish that will help keep fingerprints in the Gulf, and the fresh color options give it a fresh visual identification compared to the previous year’s model. The rear dual-camera system sits neatly in a vertical layout, which was brought back by Apple with the iPhone 16.

Big performance with high brightness

The iPhone 17 now has a 6.3-inch display, which is from a 6.1-inch screen on last year’s iPhone 16. Apple has eventually equipped it with promotion technology, which allows the refresh rate to adjust to 120Hz for smooth scrolling and down to 1Hz when the screen becomes inactive. The phone can exclude the luster of the peak of 3,000nits, which is the highest level seen on any iPhone so far.

To improve durability, Apple has used ceramic shield 2 glass on the front side. The company says it is three times more resistant to scratches than the previous version. The display also performs a seven-layer anti-reflective coating that helps reduce dazzle under strong lighting.

A19 chip for fast performance

Powering the device is the new A19 chip of Apple, which is built on the 3Nm process. It has a 6-core CPU consisting of two high-performance core and four efficiency core, which is combined with a 5-core GPU. According to Apple, the chip makes the phone very fast, especially for users upgrading from old iPhones.

Cameras upgraded with new front sensor

Apple has focused a huge focus on cameras in this model. On the back, the iPhone 17 has a 48-megapixel dual-fusion setup that merges the main and telephoto functions. It supports 1x and 2x mode with focal lengths of 13 mm and 26 mm, while the telephoto option reaches 52 mm in 2x mode.

On the front, there is a new 18-megapixel camera with a much larger sensor than before. This center comes with phase support, which can automatically adjust the frame using AI when more people are in the shot. Videos shot with front cameras also get better stabilization, using the same system found in rear action mode.

Battery and storage

Battery backup has also been improved. Apple claims that the iPhone 17 leads to the full day’s use and eight additional hours of video playback compared to the iPhone 16. A quick fee of 10 minutes can power the phone for video streaming for eight hours. Additionally, the storage now starts at 256GB, which provides more space for apps, photos and videos than the previous entry-level model.
