A new range of Mac computers powered by the next-generation M4 processor is said to launch later this year. The report suggests that Apple’s preparations for the new Mac lineup are already in full swing. It is worth noting that the brand has a track record of introducing new Macs a month after the launch of a new iPhone. It is currently unknown if Apple will follow the same launch timeline for the 2024 models as well.

The report claims that some test logs spotted by developers reveal information about four new Mac models. It suggests that the devices are labelled as 16.1, 16.2, 16.3 and 16.10. All these models are said to draw power from the base-level version of the M4 chip and may launch in October. For those who want to know the names of the upcoming products, the report says that a smaller Mac mini, new MacBook Pro models and a new lineup of iMacs may be coming.

The new Macs are notable for their diverse core configurations. Three models may be equipped with 10-core CPUs, which are expected to deliver strong performance. These high-end versions also come with a 10-core GPU (graphics processing unit). In contrast, the fourth model may have a more modest eight-core CPU and eight-core GPU, targeting users who require less intensive performance but still want to benefit from the M4 architecture.

The 10-core CPU models will reportedly be equipped with 16GB or 32GB RAM options. Notably, the M4 processor in these Macs mirrors the configuration found in the iPad Pro, with four high-performance cores and six efficiency cores. But, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
