Indonesia will soon lift the ban on iPhone 16

The iPhone 16 was the first significant change to the vanilla iPhone design since the iPhone 13, courtesy of the new camera layout. The iPhone 16 was launched in 2024 as the most power-packed base iPhone model at that time. The iPhone 17 is better than the iPhone 16, but the latter still remains a good option, especially during the sale.

iPhone 16 can be purchased for less than Rs 40,000 during Croma’s Black Friday sale. The device is priced at Rs 66,490, which is less than the launch price of Rs 79,900. That means a flat discount of Rs 13,410. To bring the price down further, you can take advantage of bank discounts, exchange bonuses and discount coupons. According to Croma website, you can buy iPhone 16 for just Rs 39,990. This deal is valid till 30th November.

During our review of the iPhone 16, we found the device to be a solid flagship with good performance. You can read the full review here: iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus review: Smart upgrade

However, if you want to know about the pros and cons of the iPhone 16 in snippets, here are 3 reasons to buy the device, and 1 reason you may decide to skip it.

Jay 1: Impressive performance

The iPhone 16 is powered by the A18 chipset. During our usage, the phone was fast in everyday use and could handle heavy tasks including gaming with ease. The iPhone 16 can also handle long gaming sessions without generating excessive heat, making it ideal for mobile gamers.

The iPhone 16 may have been launched last year, but it still can’t outperform most new Android flagships.

Jai 2: good cameras

Let’s be honest, a lot of people buy an iPhone for the camera experience. The iPhone 16 packs a 48-megapixel main and 12-megapixel ultrawide. The main camera has good dynamic range and can give you Instagram-worthy photos even in low light. The ultrawide is also better than other phones you get in this price range.

But, you miss out on telephoto, and the iPhone 17 selfie camera is much better thanks to Apple’s new Center Stage feature.

Jay 3: Solid battery life

Gone are the days when we were mostly worried about the battery life of iPhones. iPhone 16 has a 3561mAh battery pack. For us, the phone easily lasted a day or more, even with heavy usage.

But note that the iPhone 16 isn’t even close to the 100W fast charging speeds supported by some Android phones these days.

No: 60Hz display

Now, the elephant in the room, performance. The iPhone 16 has a vibrant 6.1-inch OLED screen, which is nice in itself. But there is one problem and that is the refresh rate. The iPhone 16 has a 60Hz refresh rate and does not support Apple’s ProMotion. If you’ve used a device with a higher refresh rate before, you’ll probably notice the difference.

However, if you’re coming from an older iPhone, you’ll still appreciate the display upgrade.
